Dear Cousins and Friends,

The AFC RootsWeb Mailing List is now the official query list for Acadian GenWeb. I invite you to join the newly created ACADIAN-FRENCH-CANADIAN Rootsweb Mailing list if you are having difficulties with your research. For the purposes of Acadian GenWeb your queries should be Acadia/Acadian related.

My greatest hope is that you if you join, you will all be very active participants. What makes a list vibrant are the people who participate when they are willing to post their queries and the answers to help other people in their research.

Rootsweb has approved this list for "northerners" which means we now have a list that addresses the difficulties of researchers of Acadian & French-Canadian descent from the New England states, the Canadian Maritimes, i.e. Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and hopefully France, Newfoundland and the Magdalene Islands.

Because an Acadian-Cajun list already exists, there are no plans to address Cajun/Louisiana queries. You may subscribe to that list at ACADIAN-CAJUN-request@rootsweb.com - My good friend Margy Bousman is a great administrator for that mailing list.
